Wallace & Gromit (serious milk curd lovers of animated film fame) are ever so happy that Lactalis McLelland knows how to take milk, separate the curds from the whey, and make cheese. Referred to simply as McLelland in its home country of Scotland, the company was founded in 1850 and has been manufacturing cheeses ever since. McLelland makes the Seriously cheddar cheese brand. Available in seven varieties, such as smoked, light, and spreadable, Seriously is one of the top-selling cheddars in the UK. Its other brands (all cheddar) include McLelland Mature, Galloway, and Orkney. In 2005 the founding Irvine family sold the business to French dairy giant, Lactalis.
