NEW YORK --CIAO BELLA®, America’s Favorite Gelato, has been chosen by the National Association of Specialty Food Trade (NASFT) as a 2010 sofi™ Silver Finalist for their Key Lime Graham Gelato Squares.
Recognized in the Dessert or Dessert Topping category, Ciao Bella’s Key Lime Graham Gelato Squares were chosen by a national panel of judges from a field of over 1,500 submissions. All of the 2010 sofi™ Silver Finalists will compete for the Gold sofi™ award at NASFT’s 56th Annual Summer Fancy Food Show in June.
Billed by NASFT as “the specialty food industry’s highest honor”, the sofi™ (which stands for Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation) awards are broken up into 33 categories that honor the best specialty food and beverage products of the year.
Temptingly tart and nestled between two wafers, Ciao Bella’s Key Lime Graham Gelato Squares are a chef inspired blend of lime juice, graham cracker and pure cream. The gelato squares represent one of three new novelty items the brand unveiled this year. Offering a unique twist on old favorites, consumers can also indulge in a low-calorie Blood Orange Sorbet bar or a Tahitian Vanilla Raspberry Gelato Dip enrobed in chocolate. NASFT has previously recognized Ciao Bella products for their excellence in several categories, including Best Product Line in 2006 as well as naming Blood Orange Sorbet, Blackberry Cabernet Sorbet, and Key Lime Graham Cracker Gelato “Best Dessert” in 2006, 2007, and 2009 respectively.
