December 21 2009 - Baltika, Russia’s one of the largest beer brands owned by Carlsberg Group recognized as best-selling premium brand in the country since the beginning of the current year. According to initial estimates the total Baltika’s sales in Russia this year has amounted to 76,8 billion rubles ($USD 2,55 billion), suggests a new market research.
The second place in the list of 50 best-selling brands in Russia is occupied by "Zelenya Marka" vodka with total sales of 29,6 billion rubles ($USD 0,96 billion). The owner of the brand is Polish Central European Distribution Corporation.
"Prostokvashino" dairy brand produced by Unimilk ranked the third in the total list. Sales of the brand are estimated at 24.2 billion rubles ($0.78 billion).
Among the best-selling brands are also Klinskoje and Siberian Crown beers, Domick v Derevne and Chudo dairy brands, as well as OstaNkino sausages.
Last year the largest Russian brand in terms of sales was MTS (184 billion rubles), MTS) the biggest mobile phone operator in Russia and the CIS. The second place was occupied by its local competitor Megaphone (166 billion), while Baltika was only the third.
