Blogging: Nestle invests $5 millions in expanding of cereals operations in Russia

  


 

November 17 2009 - Nestle has invested more than 150 million rubles ($US 5 millions) in expanding of its cereals operations in Russia, said recently the director of corporate affairs of Nestle Russia Andrew Baden.

According to him, starting from January 2010, Nestlé will launch a new cereals line in the city of Vologda in order to produce its branded cereals under the "Bistrov" brand. The new line will create more than 150 new jobs.

Currently BISTROV® cereals are produced at the capacities of the Nestle’s branch in St. Petersburg, but in early 2010 they will be fully transferred to the Nestle’s factory in Vologda, specializing in the production of baby food under the NESTLE® brand name.

"The consolidation of baby food and cereals business in Vologda will allow us to manage our Russian business more effectively and optimize the operating costs. Vologda’s plant is a key Nestle’s factory for the production of cereal porridges supplied not only to Russia, but to other CIS countries ", - said Andrew Baden.

"Despite the crisis we have already invested more than $5 millions in the Vologda capacities, which will beсome the center of our baby food and instant hot cereals production in Russia”, Baden said.
