July 23 2009 - Starting this July new hazelnut-flavored BIS chocolate will be launch in markets throughout Brazil. The limited edition novelty should be in the market for a year. The choice of a new hazelnut flavor was based on surveys conducted by the company and indicated the taste as one of the most appreciated by Brazilian consumers. BIS is the best selling chocolate brand in the country with 10.4% share in sales volume of the Brazilian chocolate market, and holds 73.7% of the bite-size chocolate segment, reported Nielsen.
According to Eduardo Nigro, chocolate marketing director at Kraft Foods Brasil, the Lacta brand is innovating bringing different flavors to their traditional chocolates like BIS and Sonho de Valsa. "In recent years BIS was launched in strawberry and orange flavors due to popular demand that approved the new versions. Now, hazelnut has earned its share," says the executive. He believes that sales of hazelnut BIS will help the brand increase its leadership in the bite-size chocolate segment".
To support the sales effort there will be sampling events of the new BIS in main points-of-sale throughout the country. In addition to it new advertisements will be broadcast in standard TV stations. The new BIS will be sold in the traditional format, in boxes with 20 units. The special edition has suggested price of R$2.89.
