Rimon Dessert Wine
The pomegranate fruit for this wine was harvested at the peak of ripeness, resulting in a full-flavored, soft, harmonious wine. Its natural sweetness is retained by interrupting the fermentation process with the addition of a quantity of alcohol (also produced naturally from pomegranates). It was then aged for 10 months in French oak barrels to give the wine depth, roundness and a remarkable taste and colour. This is a sweet, yet light, wine with fruity aromas and bright cherry flavors. Notes of chocolate and lush pomegranate flavors linger on the finish.

About the Company
Rimon Winery is the exclusive producer of the world’s only 100% pure pomegranate wine. Since 2003, father and son, Gaby and Avi Nachmias have been producing a unique pomegranate wine from their orchard located on a mountain in Upper Galilee Israel. Following the rave reviews that the first 2000 limited-run bottles of Ramon’s dessert wine received in 2003, the Nachmias created the winery the following year, developing a commercial production line and extending the Rimon Winery range to now include a dessert, a dry and a port style wine.
The traditional techniques used by the Nachmias Family to make the Rimon pomegranate wines are virtually identical to the traditional methods of making grape wine. The fruit is harvested at optimum ripeness and crushed, then moved into large temperature-controlled steel tanks to ferment. After fermentation, the wine is then aged in French oak barrels to add complexity and softness. Rimon Winery uses a specially-designed machine to open each pomegranate into a flower-like shape, scoop out the ripe, edible seeds, and crush them for their rich red juice.
Rimon`s wines are produced from a unique variety of pomegranate specially cultivated by the Nachmias family that is sweeter, deeper in colour, and richer in vitamins and antioxidants than other pomegranate varieties. Having cultivated this special pomegranate themselves, they registered a patent for it called ‘NG’, after Gaby’s full name of Nachmias Gabriel. The ‘NG’ is famous for its high juice content, soft tannins, sweetness and rich flavours, to which the father and son team attribute their phenomenal success. The health-giving properties of the fruit are also still contained in this unique wine, it has three times the antioxidant power of normal red wine or green tea, as well as a wealth of vitamins and minerals.
They are the only wines in the world made exclusively from 100% pomegranate - with no addition of sugar. Each Rimon wine is produced using traditional winemaking techniques, which also preserves the pomegranate's succulent flavours and healthful attributes. The Nachmias took advice from Israel wine expert Dr. Arkadi Papikian which help them structured the wine. The result is a collection of beautiful wines that attract the eye with superb clarity and rich colour and warm the heart with remarkable and unique flavours.
Pomegranate, a symbol of health and beauty, prosperity and royalty, fertility and abundance, this extraordinary fruit has for centuries been celebrated in the art, mythology, religious texts and literature of Jewish, Greek, Muslim, Christian, and even Chinese and Egyptian cultures.
For the first time, thanks to Rimon Winery, we can now enjoy the ancient crimson fruit in the form of world-class, wines made from 100 percent pomegranate juice that retain the succulent flavours and healthful properties of the pomegranate fruit even after they have been fermented into wine
