Camel Milk Set To Hit Supermarket Shelves
Camel milk could soon be competing with cow’s milk on supermarket shelves in the UK if the UAE wins approval from the European Union to begin exports. According to the Farmers Guardian, the EU is sending a team of inspectors to check the standard of camel farms in the UAE and the safety of their milk early next year and exports could begin soon after.
Camel’s milk is expected to be a big hit in the UK given it has less fat and cholesterol than cow’s milk. It contains three times more vitamin C, more vitamin B and ten times more iron than cow’s milk. And it can also be digested by people who are lactose intolerant.
