July 08 2010 - Amersfoort, the Netherlands - FrieslandCampina Kievit and Lacto-Misr of Egypt have signed a collaborative agreement for the production of creamers.

Lacto-Misr is to produce creamers for tea and coffee for FrieslandCampina Kievit. The international collaboration is FrieslandCampina Kievit’s response to strongly increasing demand for premium quality spray-dried ingredients in this region.

Both parties have agreed a collaborative partnership whereby Lacto-Misr will make production capacity available, and FrieslandCampina Kievit will be responsible for the supply of raw materials, and marketing. FrieslandCampina will also bring its technology and distribution network to the party. FrieslandCampina Kievit expects to further expand the existing production capacity on the basis of its specific knowledge and recipes. FrieslandCampina Kievit currently produces approximately 200,000 tonnes of spray-dried emulsions annually for the food industry.

FrieslandCampina Kievit specialises in food ingredients based on spray-dried emulsions and has subsidiaries in Meppel, Salatiga (Indonesia) and Lippstad (Germany). Lacto-Misr of Egypt is a local baby food producer headquartered some 50 km to the north-east of Cairo.

Collaboration with local partners is part of FrieslandCampina Kievit's growth strategy. It enables FrieslandCampina Kievit to better serve both local and international customers through a more efficient supply chain and lower landed costs.
