Carrefour, unions reach final deal on Belgian shops
PARIS, July 2 (Reuters) - French supermarket chain Carrefour said on Friday it had come to an agreement with unions to restructure its loss-making Belgian stores.
Carrefour will close 16 unprofitable stores, including nine hypermarkets and seven supermarkets, by the end of 2010. Five of the supermarkets will be re-opened under the Carrefour Market banner as a franchise.
